Three days until we party like “Roc-stars” at Rocco’s 1st birthday party! Here’s a sneak peak at some of the items I (with help from Grammy Dawnte) made from the printable set I purchased from Etsy (details in previous post).
I love how they are turning out, but man-oh-man are my fingers tired from cutting and gluing! These printable items are like Ikea…inexpensive but a lot of work to assemble. It’s totally going to be worth it though. I cannot wait to be able to show Rocco photo’s from his first birthday party when he is older. Such a special and “over-board” worthy milestone to celebrate!
We also have Rocco’s one year photo’s this weekend. The outfit he is wearing is going to be so cute, I can’t even stand it! For the indoor photo’s I found an adorable flannel top and fun jacket from Zara and new dark denim jeans from Gap. (Grammy Dawnte ended up getting them for him, thanks Grammy!) Vin and I found a pair of dark grey Converse when we were in Florida a couple months ago at the Miromar Outlets, so he will attempt to wear those. I say attempt because last time I put them on him, he just sat down and pulled them right off. Hopefully, he thinks they are cooler this time around. Here’s a sneak peak at his outfit.
Heather Barta is shooting is one year photo’s. She has done all of his milestones so far and we have been in love with them! We chose to do lifestyle shoots at our home, so this will be the second one in our new house. We’re using the bonus room this time, for a change of scenery. There are so many windows up there, so the natural light should be perfect and the space is not fully furnished, leaving several areas to play around with props. Heather is bringing a super cute tent and a modern chair for Rocco to take photo’s with and then we are planning on using the one piece of furniture we have up there…our new couch from Ikea…for the family “wintery-snuggly” photo’s. I am so anxious to get the pictures already and we haven’t even taken them yet!
After the indoor shots, we plan on heading down the street to take some photo’s by Santa and his reindeer and all of the Christmas decor. Santa and his reindeer are going to be at Arbor Lakes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are going to be some cute photos! I’ll post some when we get them back.
One last thing! We finally got the courage to head outside today since it “warmed up” to a whopping 14 degrees and went to see Santa in the mall. Rocco had a blast and looked so handsome in daddy’s old sweater and a hat knit by Great Grandma Patty (GG). Santa was so sweet and kept telling Rocco he was “the cutest boy in the whole world.” Rocco and Santa are good buddies now.
I’ll be back in a few days to share pictures and details on Rocco’s 1st birthday party!
