Feeling energized and thankful today! One, because the sun is finally shining…AMEN! Two, because we just finished up a lovely brunch at our house with our
neighbor friends. And three, because I have a moment to reconnect with all of you following my blog (while Rocco takes his nap and Vin hangs with a friend).
You may have noticed it’s been a while since my fingers have hit this keypad. The moments for me to sit quietly behind my computer have been few and far between lately, but I am OK with it because it means that I have been making progress on some personal career goals of mine (including more to do with this blog, party planning and subbing a lot of TigerBarre classes) and even more importantly I’ve been enjoying time with friends and family! However, I do love writing and sharing with you, so I’m happy to be back at it today!
We made these brunch plans with our
neighbor friends (Josh, Steph and Hudson) a while ago, but had to reschedule a few times due to the nasty cold/virus that is going around. We had it in our household first and then then a couple weeks later it ran through theirs. It seems like everyone I know has had some sort of string of it. C’mon summer! Thankfully, everyone is well again and we were able to keep our plans for this morning.
I’ve been channeling my entertaining skills lately, especially with all of the fun showers and events I’m hosting this spring and summer. So, I was inspired for this brunch to bring sunshine to our friends in more ways than one. With a few yellow, light blue and light green accents, the tablescape was screaming spring!
I especially need to point out the San Pellegrino candles that my ever-so-talented mom made! She recently got a glass bottle cutter and was testing it out on these mini San Pellegrino water bottles. How cute are they? I am thinking I need her to make me versions of these for every shower/party I host. Ready for this, mom? Kidding! But, I’m not kidding about wanting her to start up a store on Etsy! Stay tuned…
My mom also gave me the inspiration for this mornings menu. She made a version of these egg muffins for us a while ago and I loved them! So quick and easy, yet delicious. My version included sundried tomato, spinach and goat cheese. I picked up some chocolate croissants and smoked bacon from the deli at Whole Foods. If you have kids (and they like eggs) you need to give these egg muffins a try! Sometimes I even make a batch at the beginning of the week, store them in an air-tight container in the fridge and heat up for an easy and healthy breakfast!
After eating, Rocco and his buddy Hudson had a fun time playing. A few more months and Hud will be running alongside Rocco!
Hudson is almost five-months-old now and getting cuter by the minute. It was a ray of sunshine just seeing this sweet family this morning.
Looking forward to sharing more this week, including a recap of the killer Kentucky Derby party we went to at our other
neighbor friends house yesterday and the latest toddler talk. Headed out for a bike ride soon with my boys, gotta run!
Have a sunshiny day!
