We just got back from another trip down to sunny Florida, to visit Grandpa Paul and Grandma Fran and their newly completed pool!
This time, our dear friends Jon and Sally came down with us for a few days. It was their first time experiencing the Miromar Lakes community and we made sure to take full advantage of all the luxuries.
Sally and I went for a scenic (and warm) run bright and early each morning. It was a bit of a breathing adjustment getting acquainted with the humidity, but we finished each run strong together and were energized (not to mention, detoxified) to start the day. It was perfect. I mean, how can you not love a morning run with this view as the backdrop?
We would head over to the community’s pool mid-morning for some sun and lunch. Rocco had fun swimming and playing with the other kids too. This was his fourth trip to Florida (that’s impressive in just 17 months…lucky boy, huh?). From poolside naps in the stroller at three months old, to sitting (still) in the pool at 10 months, to now jumping in the pool at almost 18 months, it’s been so much fun experiencing each stage with him here. He loved every minute in the water and is quite the little fishy. Clearly, he’ll be ready for lots of lake time at Grandpa and Grandma Kurr’s cabin this summer!
After lunch, we would take Rocco back to the house for his nap and hang poolside at Grandpa and Grandma’s beautiful new pool. They bought their house about 10 years ago and had plans to build a pool in their backyard after retirement. Their plans have now come to fruition and it is a fabulous feature!
Grandpa Paul even provides a light show at night! Rocco loved it and so did we.
To top it all off, we had plenty of delicious dinners, good chats and lots of laughs with everyone.
I can’t say enough how fortunate and blessed we are to be able to spend so much time in Florida with our lovely family and dear friends. However, as much as we love that Grandpa and Grandma have their wonderful home there, we are excited to have them back in Minnesota for the summer. Thankfully, the sunshine is following them here.
