I’m not much of a Black Friday shopper, but I AM an eager Christmas decorator the day after Thanksgiving. So, that’s exactly what I did today. Vinnie helped me drag out the tree from the basement (someday we’ll try a real one) and we turned on some Christmas tunes and let the fun begin. Among several other things this Thanksgiving, I am very thankful I have a sweet hubby that helps me fulfill my Christmas spirit needs.
This year, I decided to change up my decor from “colorfully merry and bright” to “silver and white.” Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the bright and fun colors of the holiday season, but was just in the mood for something different in our new home. My inspiration came from these white antlers I picked up at the French Vintage Marketplace, an annual home decor event at a greenhouse nearby. Thanks for introducing me to it, Steph!
It was really easy and affordable to make the decor transition. I already had a lot of silver, so just needed to mix in more white. My mom helped me find a few things at Target (especially for the mantle, since we didn’t have one in our last home) and then I dug through my cabinet of serving-ware and candles to make a few DIY decorations. One of them being festive hurricane candle arrangements. We received the hurricanes as wedding gifts. I just added a couple candles and ornaments…and voila!
For the tree, I picked up some additional silver bulbs, silver garland and a couple new white ornaments (on sale at Target). I am leaving it at that. I love the simplicity. And Rocco loves the lights and shiny ornaments. It’s a win, win!
I am so happy with how quick and easy it was to transform my home into a silver and white winter wonderland and am loving the Christmas spirit in here already. Are you crazy for Christmas like me and have started decorating?
Hope everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving!
